Saint-Gobain Placo supplies gypsum wallboard for Madrid auditorium
10 December 2020Spain: Saint-Gobain subsidiary Saint-Gobain Placo has participated in the renovation of Madrid’s Julián Antonio Sánchez Municipal Auditorium in San Martín de la Vega with the supply of sound-absorbing gypsum wallboard solutions. The company says that it used its 12.5mm Rigitone 8/15/20 Super laminated boards on the walls of the building. It said it selected the product for its high acoustic performance, and improvement of indoor air quality. It added, “This improvement in acoustic absorption will allow the sound to be better distributed within the auditorium and, that reverberation does not occur in it, which will improve the comfort of the users.”
The company said, “The use of Rigitone 8/15/20 Super in the renovation work of the Julián Antonio Sánchez Municipal Auditorium has managed to improve the acoustics of the auditorium, create a healthy environment for the people who come to it, in addition to offering an aesthetic and design finish functional as well as modern, essential in this type of enclosure.”
Saint-Gobain Placo seeks Golden Gypsum Trophy winner
26 September 2019Spain/Portugal: Saint-Gobain Placo Iberia has selected 32 finalists for its Golden Gypsum Trophy for innovative use of its products. The Spain and Portugal subsidiary of Saint-Gobain selected projects for innovative and operational excellence in projects representing six categories: laminated plasterboard, plasters, innovation and sustainable solutions, residential sector, non-residential sector and commercial sector. The public will be able to vote for winners of each category on the Saint-Gobain Placo website from 10 October 2019 to 31 October 2019.
Spain: Saint-Gobain Placo’s gypsum wallboard board plant at San Martin de la Vega near Madrid has been awarded bronze status in the World Class Manufacturing program. The plant is the first Saint-Gobain unit in the world to achieve the certification. The scheme is intended to train individuals to assess operational excellence, as well as improve employee morale, individual and company performance, and company profits.
Spain: Saint-Gobain Placo Iberia plans to spend Euro4.5m on upgrades to its Fábrica de Quinto wallboard plant in Zaragoza. The project started in 2017 with an investment of Euro1m, according to the Heraldo de Aragón newspaper. In July 2018 the company plans to spend Euro0.5m towards improving the quality of its wallboard and preparing a production line for new products. The majority of the investment will go towards improving logistics at the unit and expanding its storage capacity. A new wallboard recycling plant is also planned.
