Rigips holds first meeting for specialist contractor advisory board
29 September 2023Germany: Rigips held the first meeting for its specialist contractor advisory board on 13 – 14 September 2023 at the Brieselang gypsum wallboard plant in Brandenburg. The managing directors of 10 wallboard construction companies met to discuss the market and future challenges. The program for the two-day meeting included a tour of the plant and a workshop moderated by the Rigips product management and the research and development departments.
Danijel Lučić, the director of sales at Saint-Gobain Isover G+H and Saint-Gobain Rigips said “With the expertise of the 'Rigips Experts', we want to be even closer to the market, from product management through research and development to sales.” He added, “The members of the advisory board are all professionals in modern wallboard construction. We want to include these experts in our considerations when developing products and systems and also when developing messages for and in the market. Your feedback is enormously valuable for us in order to be able to prepare and make important decisions safely.”
Türkiye: Competition authorities have approved France-based Saint-Gobain's merger of its Türkiye-based subsidiary Saint-Gobain Rigips with Dalsan Alçi. Regulatory News has reported that the companies have a combined gypsum wallboard capacity of 100Mm2/yr and sales of Euro160m. Dalsan Alçi is currently in the process of acquiring fellow producer Manisa Turgutlu.
Turkey: France-based Saint-Gobain and building materials producer Dalsan have signed a joint-venture agreement, pursuant to which they will merge their gypsum wallboard operations in Turkey. The merge will give the new joint venture a gypsum wallboard production capacity of over 100Mm2/yr. It will also see the companies’ plaster production consolidated under their new subsidiary.
The partners said “This partnership will offer Turkish customers access to the most innovative and complete portfolio of light and sustainable solutions for the construction and renovation of the building envelope, as well as internal partitioning.”
Saint-Gobain to use shipments logistics software from Sixfold
14 February 2020Germany: Logistics visibility provider Sixfold says that Saint-Gobain Rigips will use its Sixfold’s logistics software to enable the firm’s sales teams and planners to provide customers with real-time data on shipments. Customers will be provided with live data on the status of shipments through Sixfold’s product and be able to track the status of goods in transit without calls to carriers, with the potential to gain savings of up to 30%.
Saint-Gobain Rigips’ is a joint customer of Sixfold and Transporeon, a major European logistics network. Sixfold is the exclusive shipments visibility provider for the Transporeon network and provides shipment information on over 50,000 shipments each day. The network comprises more than 1200 shippers in the manufacturing and retailing industries.
