Categories and judging criteria
1: Gypsum company of the year
Open to plaster and wallboard companies worldwide
Judging criteria: Management strategy, employee relations, customer and supplier relations, environmental performance, safety record, manufacturing excellence, productivity, use of technology, market results.
Awarded by the judging panel, giving due weight to voting.
2: Supplier of the year
Open to equipment, additive and service supplier companies worldwide
Judging criteria: Innovation, quality of product, value for money, timeliness, effectiveness of product.
Awarded by the judging panel, giving due weight to voting.
3: Wallboard plant of the year
Open to individual gypsum-wallboard plants worldwide
Judging criteria: Safety, productivity, innovation, quality consistency, environmental performance.
Awarded by the judging panel, giving due weight to voting.
4: Global Gypsum product of the year
Open to gypsum-based and gypsum-enhancing products worldwide.
Judging criteria: Innovation, quality of product, effectiveness of product, fit to market need
Awarded by the judging panel, giving due weight to voting.
5: Innovation of the year (equipment/services/additives etc)
Open to equipment, additives and services worldwide (not including gypsum-based products - see above)
Judging criteria: Innovation, quality of product, value for money, timeliness, effectiveness of product.
Awarded by the judging panel, giving due weight to voting.
6: Outstanding contribution to the global gypsum industry
Open to individuals, companies and institutions worldwide.
Judging criteria: All-round contribution to excellence in gypsum.
Awarded by the judging panel, giving due weight to voting.
7: Global Gypsum personality or personalities of the year
Awarded by the judging panel (no voting).
8: Other awards
Other special awards may be given by the judging panel from time to time.
How to enter
A link for nominations and voting is included on the Global Gypsum Conference web site.
The judges reserve the right to include individuals, companies, suppliers, products and plants that have not specifically been nominated for the Global Gypsum Awards.
Judging panel and rules
The judging panel is composed of the editorial board of Global Gypsum Magazine and Global Gypsum Conference, and the panel reserves the right to take advice from other parties in the industry.
Although companies may nominate themselves, companies are not permitted to vote for themselves - all such votes in the relevant category will be discarded.
Nominators are requested to include a 'citation' of up to 100 words, explaining why they believe the nominated entity deserves to win. These citations may be edited and will be included on the voting web site. The organisers will not write such a citation if one is absent from the nomination. If insufficient citations are received, then none will be included on the voting site.
Companies indulging in low-down dirty tricks will be disqualified.
The judging panel's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
