PT Siam-Indo Gypsum orders Gebr. Pfeiffer vertical mill
03 December 2019Indonesia: PT Siam-Indo Gypsum, a joint venture of Wings Group and Thailand’s Siam Cement Group, has ordered a Gebr. Pfeiffer MPS 180 GC vertical mill for grinding, drying, classifying and calcining gypsum at its 20Mm2/yr Bekasi plant in Java. With a total drive power of 210kW, it will mill 40t/h of gypsum to a fineness of 100 µm.
Germany: Gebr. Pfeiffer says it is planning to use its TRT Triplex dryer to partially calcine gypsum. Testing at the Gebr. Pfeiffer test station has yielded ‘positive’ results and further installations are being considered to explore the concept. The product uses the uniflow principle, where both material and hot gasses flow in the same direction and pass through the dryer tubes from the centre outwards.
The engineering company has received an order for a TRT 5000/8.0 Triplex dryer from Shree Cement in India. The dryer will be used to dry flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) gypsum from a captive coal-power plant for use in cement plants. In the planned dryer plant the moisture of the FGD gypsum will be reduced to a residual moisture of <2%. Artificial gypsum from the dryer will be used at other cement grinding plants in the country. The 50t/hr dryer will be installed at the end of 2018 and is expected to start commercial operation in mid-2019.
Germany: Gebr Pfeiffer will build a MPS 160 B vertical roller mill at the Siniat Hartershofen gypsum wallboard plant. The mill will replace the existing Pfeiffer MPS 125 A at the site. The new mill will be set up in an annex next to the old grinding plant and the majority of the existing equipment will be reused.
The scope of services comprises delivery of the mill, adjusting equipment including a hot gas generator, process ducting, electrics, buildings and foundations, including installation and connection works as well as integration into the existing process. Switch-over and commissioning of the grinding plant is planned for December 2016.
