Canada/US: Knauf’s North American subsidiaries CGC and USG have launched new Sheetrock gypsum wallboard products in their respective markets. CGC has launched Sheetrock Ultralight ProPanel gypsum wallboard in Canada, while USG has launched Sheetrock Ultralight Tough gypsum wallboard in the US. CGC describes the Sheetrock Ultralight ProPanel as ‘The industry’s first lightweight 12.7mm gypsum panel,’ while USG described Sheetrock Ultralight Tough as ‘engineered to survive the bumps, drops, and daily demands of the job.’ A new formulation reportedly strengthens the board’s edges.
USG said that production at additional plants will follow the original regional launches.
