US: The Madison County Board of Zoning Appeals has approved a special use for Roy's Recycling to continue to operate its gypsum wallboard recycling plant in the county in Indiana. The Herald Bulletin newspaper has reported that the special use is subject to a ban on new wallboard intake and the continued processing of current inventory of 30,000t at 5000t/yr.

The plant had reportedly stored material outdoors in violation of its previous special use, leading to dust and water complaints from local residents.

Owner Randy Scott said "There are orders for everything produced. There is a need." He added that the company had planted 5000 trees in the vicinity of the plant to serve as a windbreak.
